The schools to teach English under the new syllabus need to have teachers meeting English qualification standards, minimum facilities and equipment as prescribed, etc.
503 schools in Hai Duong province have registered to teach English under a 10-year syllabus in the 2018 - 2019 school year, up 127 schools over the 2017 - 2018 school year, according to the Department of Education and Training.
Of these, there are 263 primary schools, 200 junior high schools, and 40 senior high schools.
The schools to teach English under the new syllabus need to have teachers meeting English qualification standards following the six-level framework of reference for foreign language proficiency used in Vietnam (primary and junior high school teachers must satisfy at least level 4 - B2; and senior high school teachers, at least level 5 - C1); minimum facilities and equipment as prescribed; and pupils meeting English proficiency requirements.
The schools will teach English under the 10-year syllabus to realize the project "Teaching and learning foreign languages at educational establishments in Hai Duong province in the 2011 - 2020 period."
