Number of migrant storks in Vinh Hoa soars
Ha Van The in Ngoc Hoa hamlet, Vinh Hoa commune, Ninh Giang district, said there were about 2,000 storks with more than 300 nests in his family's garden, double the figures in early April.
There are more than 300 nests in the stork garden of Ha Van The's family
Some kinds of storks came to nest, lay eggs, and raise children like Chinese pond herons, little egrets, etc.
Storks flocked there because the garden was renovated with more plants and bamboo trees grown for storks to perch.
Many fields in some neighboring localities are left fallow, creating conditions for storks to hunt for food.
The stork garden of The's family covers an area of about 14,000 m2. Storks started to reside there at the end of 2018.
