Pan Continental Metal Materials Vietnam Company fined VND70 million

From April 2018, the company did not comply with its commitment of environmental impact assessment and deliberately spread NH3 gas into the surrounding environment.

The director of the Hai Duong provincial Police has decided to impose an administrative violation fine of VND70 million on Pan Continental Metal Materials Vietnam Co., Ltd. in the expanded Dai An industrial zone (Lai Cach town, Cam Giang district) for failing to properly realize one of the contents of the approved environmental impact assessment report.

Last July, During Vietnam Co., Ltd. reported Pan Continental Metal Materials Vietnam Co., Ltd.'s discharge of ammonia (NH3) gas with unpleasant smell affecting the health of the staff of the nearby During Vietnam Co., Ltd. to the provincial Police's Environmental Police Division.

The Environmental Police Division coordinated with the Environmental Protection Sub-department (Department of Natural Resources and Environment) and the provincial Industrial Zones Authority for inspection, verification, and clarification.

According to the verification, from April 2018, Pan Continental Metal Materials Vietnam Co., Ltd. did not comply with its commitment of environmental impact assessment and deliberately spread NH3 gas into the surrounding environment.

The company admitted the violation and pledged to take measures for recovery and circulatory use of NH3 gas and ensure no emission into the environment during production.
