Mr. Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hai Duong province, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, on July 13 afternoon inspected two Covid-19 checkpoints in Binh Giang and Thanh Mien districts.

He was accompanied by Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung and representatives of relevant sectors and localities.

At the checkpoints, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung required leaders of Binh Giang and Thanh Mien districts and the authorities of the communes where the checkpoints are located to pay attention to accommodation, drinking water, and fans for members.

Heads of the checkpoints should regularly update themselves on the epidemic situation in bordering areas as well as other provinces and cities to strictly control people coming in and out with no omission and reach an agreement with the authorities of An Thi and Phu Cu districts, Hung Yen province, to control vehicles entering and leaving and avoid congestion.

Enterprises whose workers pass the checkpoints were required to proactively plan epidemic prevention right in the workplace to reduce control at the checkpoints.

Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung required forces to highly concentrate to protect the province's anti-epidemic achievements.

Anyone can be a pathogen; hence, the forces at the checkpoints must uphold their responsibility, overcome difficulties caused by hot weather, and require anyone to have their body temperature checked and make a medical declaration.

The official agreed to the proposal of the force on duty at km35+600 on national highway 38 in Binh Giang's Ke Sat district town and required the district authorities to add two steam fans right on July 13 afternoon to ensure the health of its members.

Tents at the checkpoint must give a careful coverage and prevent heat for the members to be healthy enough to perform their duties.

There remain many inadequacies in disinfectant spraying at the checkpoint, which can cause congestion and hardships for the members, so it is necessary to study the option of adding automatic disinfection machines.

Local authorities and units should consolidate and improve the operational efficiency of Community Covid and Covid Safety teams.

Leaders of Binh Giang district said right on the afternoon of July 13, Binh Giang Telecommunications would install internet connection lines at the checkpoint to provide free WIFI for those passing the checkpoint to scan a QR code for medical declaration and that they would immediately add steam fans to the checkpoint.

The provincial checkpoint at km 35+600 on national highway 38 in Ke Sat district town borders on An Thi district. 24 people are on duty 24/24 at the checkpoint.

There are 28 people on duty at the checkpoint on national 38B's section crossing Cao Thang commune, Thanh Mien district, which borders on Phu Cu district.

Due to a high density of traffic, the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee required Thanh Mien district authorities to immediately add nine members to each shift at the location.

* The provincial People's Committee decided to establish two more inter-sectoral Covid-19 checkpoints at km35+600 on national highway 38 in Ke Sat district town and km19 on national highway 38B in Cao Thang commune on July 11. The checkpoints are situated in localities adjacent to Hung Yen province.

By July 13, there had been eight provincial Covid-19 checkpoints in the province. Aside from the above checkpoints, the six others were set up on May 9, consisting of three at km26+300 on national highway 18 in Pha Lai ward (bordering on Bac Ninh province's Que Vo district), km46+300 on national highway 18 in Hoang Tien ward (adjacent to Quang Ninh province's Dong Trieu provincial town), and km99+100 on national highway 37 in Le Loi commune (next to Bac Giang province), Chi Linh city, two on national highway 38 in Cam Hung and Ngoc Lien communes, Cam Giang district, and one at the intersection of national highway 38B (km2+700) and the road to Ha Noi – Hai Phong expressway in Gia Loc district town.

The provincial People's Committee required the checkpoints to strictly control people and vehicles entering and leaving the province, especially medical declaration and disinfectant spraying, and resolutely not to let people and vehicles from the epidemic's hot spots enter the province.

Relevant authorities and sectors should ensure the best conditions for the forces on duty at the checkpoints to perform their tasks.
