Enhancing Hai Duong - Kagoshima cooperation

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and a delegation of the province met the Governor of Kagoshima prefecture on April 9 evening on the occasion of their working trip to Japan.

Receiving and working with the delegation, Governor Mitazono Satoshi gave an overview of Kagoshima prefecture and expressed his pleasure to welcome the Hai Duong provincial delegation.

The Governor affirmed that Kagoshima prefecture authorities agreed to comprehensive cooperation with Hai Duong province and would hold discussions in the immediate future to adopt agreements on cooperation between the two sides.

In the long term, the two localities will be twinned and intensify cooperation in developing fields, including tourism.

Having many strong branded agricultural products, Kagoshima prefecture will choose safe and high quality products for export to Vietnam in the coming time.

The Governor desired that the cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in general and between Hai Duong and Kagoshima in particular would continue to thrive and Vietnam would soon have direct flights to Kagoshima for many Kagoshima people to travel to Hai Duong in the near future.

On behalf of the Hai Duong provincial delegation, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Manh Hien thanked Governor Mitazono Satoshi for his sincere reception.

He asserted that in the short term, Hai Duong provincial authorities would consider cooperation with Kagoshima on a number of fields.

With responsibilities of a leader, he will join Kagoshima heads in further developing the cooperation between the two localities and working out some main orientations for specialized bodies of the two localities to develop towards signing cooperation agreements between Kagoshima and Hai Duong in the spirit of promoting the strengths of both sides.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee hoped that enterprises in Japan in general and Kagoshima in particular currently investing in Hai Duong would continue cooperation and take Hai Duong laborers to Kagoshima for work. The authorities of both sides will create favorable conditions for laborers to work in their localities.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien respectfully invited the Kagoshima Governor to visit Hai Duong in the nearest time. The Governor gladly accepted the invitation.

At the meeting, leaders of Hai Duong and Kagoshima also agreed that in the coming time, Kagoshima prefecture would continue to invest in projects using high technology in producing consumer goods, support industrial products, new materials and energy, information technology, etc.; apply high technology and biotechnology to agricultural production, processing and trading of agricultural and aquatic products; invest in variety production; and assist Hai Duong in training agricultural manpower.

Hai Duong authorities will provide human resources for work and learning in Kagoshima.

The two localities will cooperate on healthcare, provision of high quality medical services, training of high quality medical manpower, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien affirmed that Hai Duong authorities were consistent in investment attraction policies and pledged to create favorable conditions for foreign investors in general and Kagoshima ones in particular to invest and do business in Hai Duong.

On the evening of the same day, the Kagoshima Governor held a banquet for Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Manh Hien and the provincial delegation.

Located in the southwest of Kyushu region (Japan), Kagoshima prefecture has a series of islands, a coastline more than 2,643 km long, eight airports, and two main seaports.

It is also home to many industrial zones producing semiconductors, electronics, automobiles, and agricultural food and a leading producer of dried tuna in Japan.

At present, 1,647 Vietnamese people are living and working in Kagoshima prefecture.
