Solutions to enrich forest resources at Con Son relic discussed

The participants in the seminar propose 27 species of trees that can be planted at Con Son relic

The Forest Protection Sub-department of Hai Duong province, the Silviculture Research Institute (Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences), and the Department of Science and Technology on July 14 morning co-organized the seminar "Studying solutions to restore, preserve, and sustainably manage forest resources at Con Son relic and natural chestnut forests in Chi Linh city."

The participants focused on discussing and consulting experts, managers, and locals about a list of trees that could be planted to restore forests at Con Son relic.

The chosen trees must ensure criteria like creating coverage, reducing dust and noise, suitable to weather and soil conditions at the relic, less susceptible to disease, etc.

Based on the discussion, the participants proposed 27 species of trees that could be planted at Con Son relic.

At present, there are about 1,000 ha of pine, acacia, and eucalyptus forests, including 600 ha of old and stunted acacia and eucalyptus ones, at Con Son – Kiep Bac relics.
