Versatile antiseptic spray machine
This machine was researched and invented by Pham Quang Vinh, a grade 9 student of Ngoc Ky Junior High School. The machine has been put into test run at several enterprises, schools in the local district, and was exhibited at Techfest Vietnam 2020 - National Innovation Start-up Festival which took place in Hanoi (from 26th to 29th November), and was registered for exclusive patents by the National Office of Intellectual Property.
This versatile antiseptic spray machine is 50cm long, 50cm wide, 140cm high, and weighs 30kg. Main components of the machine include antiseptic tank, piston pump, solution pipe, infrared optical obstacle sensor, power switch, electrical wiring system ... The highlight is that the machine can operate both when power is on and when power is out. When power is on, the user puts 2 hands into the spray chamber and the sensor will automatically operate. When the power is out, the user will step on the pedal and press to activate the spray system. The machine can adjust the level of the antiseptic mist. The test run shows that it takes only 1 to 2 seconds to disinfect one person’s hands. Each time the tank is filled with antiseptic solution, the machine can sanitize hands for 4,000-10,000 people. Compared with other types of hand sanitizer available in the market, the machine invented by Pham Quang Vinh is smaller and more compact, and cheaper in price.
Automatic thermometer and sterilizer
This product was born from the ideas of 2 students named Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang and Nguyen Ngoc Thien in grade 9 of Minh Duc junior High School. “We found the Covid-19 pandemic unpredictable and it has caused great damage to the whole world. Thus, we are determined to research into a machine that can help control the spread of disease”, Thien said.
Although they encountered many difficulties during the process of research and invention, thanks to the advice and assistance from their teachers and their parents, the automatic thermometer and sterilizer was completed as expected. The device is 2.1m high, 1m long, 1m wide, with 2 parts: measuring body temperature and sterilizing. When there’s someone entering, the sensor will order the components to operate according to a process set forth for 10 seconds / each sterilization.
The manufacture of the above device can make use of the waste materials from aluminum and glass factories, batteries, motors, intermediaries, wheels ... This device has overcome many limitations of sterilizers available in the market. The device only costs about VND 5 million, is easy to operate, convenient for transportation, environmentally friendly, without causing pollution and noise.
At the Science and Technology Competition for high school students in the 2020-2021 school year conducted by Tu Ky district Department of Education and Training, there are 4 technological products related to the topic of Covid-19 epidemic prevention. Among which, the two machines mentioned above won the first prize and were selected to participate in the province level competition. Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Head of Tu Ky district Education and Training Department said that these machines have been put into test run and achieved satisfactory results, suitable for use in crowded places such as schools, hospitals ... If it is invested for further research and adjustment, it is possible to put these types of machines into mass use.
