The Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) co-organized a conference on measures for Hai Duong tourism development and cooperation on tourism development among Hai Duong, Ho Chi Minh city, and six Northern provinces of Quang Ninh, Hung Yen, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, and Lang Son on October 4 afternoon at Sao Do Hotel (Chi Linh).
Addressing the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Luong Van Cau stressed that connection for regional development is necessary for tourism to really be a highly competitive economic sector. Connection will form value chains to create attractive branded tourism products.
The participants should actively study, discuss, and propose highly feasible measures to well exploit the potential and strengths of each locality and promote regional tourism growth in accordance with a cooperation program for tourism development among Hai Duong, Ho Chi Minh city, and the six Northern provinces signed in June, 2015.
The participants raised more than 10 opinions of the potential, strengths, limitations, and measures for tourism development in each locality.
The Hai Duong Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism proposed joint development of five tours among Hai Duong, Ho Chi Minh city, and other provinces and cities in the region, consisting of a spiritual tour following the Truc Lam – Yen Tu Zen (Con Son pagoda (Hai Duong) – Thanh Mai pagoda (Hai Duong) – Vinh Nghiem pagoda (Bac Giang) – Yen Tu (Quang Ninh) – Vinh Nghiem pagoda (Ho Chi Minh city)), a tour associated with celebrity Tran Hung Dao (Kiep Bac temple (Hai Duong) – Cao An Phu temple (Hai Duong) – Tran dynasty relic site (Quang Ninh) – Bach Dang Giang relic site and some relics in Thuy Nguyen district (Hai Phong) – Tran temple (Hung Yen)), a river tour (Quang Ninh – Hai Duong – Ha Noi – Bac Ninh), a regional traditional craft village tour (Chu Dau pottery (Hai Duong) – Bat Trang pottery (Ha Noi) – Phu Lang pottery (Bac Ninh) – Dong Trieu pottery (Quang Ninh), and Thanh Ha Thieu Lychee Festival (Hai Duong) – Luc Ngan thieu lychee (Bac Giang) – long longan (Hung Yen).
