Hai Duong’s population is only behind Ha Noi and Hai Phong in the Red River Delta and ranks ninth in the country with 1,907,000 people in January 2022.
Hai Duong focuses on education and training for the future workforce
Some 31.4 percent of the population live in urban areas.
In 2019, people under 15 made up 24.1 percent of the population; people aged 15-59, 60.3 percent; and those aged 60 and above, 15.6 percent.
Kinh people accounted for a lion’s share of 99.4 percent of the province’s population. Nearly 11,000 people were ethnic minorities who came from other places to seek jobs and get married in the province.
The workforce aged 15 and above account for 68.4 percent of the population, with more than 1.3 million people, ensuring manpower for active and future industrial parks.
Aside from production industries such as electricity – electronics or mechanics – manufacturing, with female human resources making up around 50%, Hai Duong can meet the labor demand for garment, footwear and processing industries.
In 2020, about 44 percent of Hai Duong’s workforce worked in the fields of industry and services, nine percent higher than 2015. The province also aims to increase the proportion of labor in industry and construction to 50.5 and 53 percent by 2025 and 2030, respectively.
