1st session of 17th provincial People’s Council scheduled for end of June

The 1st session of the 17th provincial People’s Council is scheduled for June 29 and 30 to consider and decide many important issues.

Standing members of the provincial People’s Council, the provincial People’s Committee, and the provincial Fatherland Front Committee on June 3 afternoon held a joint meeting to agree on the time and content of the 1st session of the 17th provincial People’s Council for the 2021 – 2026 tenure.

The participants in the meeting agreed to organize the session on June 29 and 30.

At the session, the provincial People’s Council will consider and decide many important issues, namely election results and confirmation of the eligibility of those elected to the 17th provincial People’s Council for the 2021 – 2026 tenure, voting for titles of the 17th provincial People’s Council and Committee, results of implementing socio-economic development tasks and plans in the first half and key tasks and measures for the second half of 2021, the status of realizing budget estimates in the first six months and measures to implement the budget estimates in the last six months of 2021, and preparation for allocation of the medium-term public investment plan in the 2021 – 2025 period.

At the session, proposals and draft resolutions related to decision on and adjustment of investment in a number of public investment projects; allocation of charter capital to the provincial Land Development Fund; adjustment of the time to support connection in cultivation and sale of agricultural products in the province; regulations on standard levels of social assistance, beneficiaries and allowance levels for a number of social protection beneficiaries; support of the remaining seven disadvantaged communes in the province yet to meet new-style rural standard; etc. will be considered.
